Oggi mancano esattamente 7 mesi a quella fatidica mattina di Los Angeles in cui vengono svelate le nominations per i premi Oscar, e simbolicamente oggi iniziamo questa lunga cavalcata che ci accompagnerà durante tutta la stagione dei premi nella sezione del sito Road to Oscar. Gli Oscar NON sono i premi più importanti nel mondo del cinema, ma indubbiamente sono i più prestigiosi, per la storia e la tradizione creata attorno a quelle statuette e per la grandissima capacità dell’industria cinematografica americana di pubblicizzarsi, vendersi e autocelebrarsi. Ponendosi come ultima data del calendario nella stagione dei premi gli Oscar hanno indirettamente trasformato tutto quello c’è prima in una lunga attesa e ogni premio precedente in una tappa di avvicinamento. La strada verso gli Oscar è lunga, particolare, bizzarra, controversa, discutibile ma sempre affascinante.

Fare pronostici adesso è difficilissimo, soprattutto perché in Italia i film giungono spesso successivamente alle uscite oltreoceano, ma oggi inauguriamo la funzione principale di questa sezione del sito, la Road to Oscar, con dei pronostici estremamente preliminari. Pronostici che ora come ora si basano solo su sentori, sensazioni, speranze, voci nel web, conoscenza dei gusti dell’Academy. È un gioco, un divertimento, e poi i pronostici li sbaglia solo chi li fa, e noi abbiamo il coraggio di farli 7 mesi prima. E sfidiamo anche l’imponderabile, poiché da quest’anno non sapremo fino al giorno stesso delle nominations non solo quali saranno i lavori candidati a Miglior Film, ma addirittura non sapremo quanti saranno.

I pronostici che leggerete sono per le categorie principali dei lungometraggi, esclusi Miglior Canzone e Miglior Film Straniero, impronosticabili anche solo per gioco. Sono indicati i pronostici delle cinquine dei candidati più qualche opzione come possibili outsiders. Nel caso del Miglior Film, non sapendo quante saranno le nominations, si va ancora più casualmente.

Ci abbiamo provato, categoria per categoria, abbiamo pronosticato veri e propri azzardi senza aver visto tutti i film elencati, e su alcuni ancora si sa pochissimo o non ci sono immagini. Ora ci prendiamo un po’ di pausa, la Road To Oscar riparte ad ottobre, quando dopo i festival di Venezia e Toronto le idee saranno più chiare. Poi vedremo ai prossimi Oscar se qualche scelta avventata fatta addirittura in estate si rivelerà giusta.
